Athletic Training Professional Dress Code
ATEP- Ouachita Baptist University The ATEP professional dress code was designed as a tool to identify athletic training
student who are actively involved in the field experience part of their clinical education.
Portrayal of a professional identifies dedication and gains respect form peers, colleagues,
and patients. In order to accurately identify a student as an active participant, the
following dress code has been established. For university-sponsored practices, the following attire is accepted: 1. Any OBU clothing with the university logo or icon;
2. Any OBU Athletic Training attire;
3. Appropriate shorts/pants (kaki is our preferred choice; hemmed); For university-sponsored games, the following attire is requested: 1. Logo collared shirt (OBU athletic training);
2. Kaki shorts or pants (weather determines the appropriate attire);
3. Logo jackets/coats, etc: For university-sponsored educational presentations/workshops, the following attire is
required: 1. slacks or nice pants/skirts (no jeans or shorts)
2. Collar shirt (no emblem other than OBU, NATA, AATA, or other sanctioned
Athletic Training logo)
3. Business casualno need for a coat/tie. We strongly suggest that all students keep a neat and clean appearance while attending
OBU sanctioned athletic events. In order to portray a professional appearance, it is
emphasized that all social club shirts and other attire NOT be worn while in the field
experience of the clinical education program. Terry DeWitt, PhD, ATC
Associate Professor, ATEP Director
